Fairly New, Trying to create pretty mesh Fur.
I am very happy to be on the forums here and hope to be a part of it.
Sorry to start off with a question. But i am pretty new to this and i tried lots of things.
I am using Blender:
What i am trying to achieve is a nice fur effect thats made from mesh.
Because i wanna import it into a 3d engine.
I do not just wanna use textures.
The combination would be even better though!
First thing i tried was to extrude the faces seperately but this was really ugly and not easy to handle.
Then i tried is to get meshes to be build around a base mesh.
With allot of head banging against my desk i had made a seperate mesh that was going around my base mes with a particle emitter.
But it looked horrible! and it didnt really work the way i wanned to.
Heres a picture of what im trying to achieve.
I am sure allot of you will be going.
What the hell is he trying to do XD
But i just dont want ugly lots of thin little strands and stuff.
Just some really nice big fat fur patches.
I am very open to better suggestion also!
