Smile Divide Edge Tool??

This is my first post, so Hi to all and nice to meet you

I'm newbie in the 3D world and i'm not english, so excuse me for my grammatical constructions. If I say something weird, please, tell me...I want to practice also my languaje :P

I tried for many days to find some tool for divide edges in two edges...but I don't know how to do it...and I was found nothing about this subject :(

In this case I want to divide 1 edge into 2, for make the mouth of a character...but I made the head in one piece, and if I make some change in the faces (like erase them) or when I split edges the model change in the bad way :(

For a best comprenhesion of my problem: If you have a ball, and you want to make the pacman character...How you can divide the edge to open a mouth into the ball model??? It exists another better way to do that???

Thank you for answer and I hope we can know each other better ^^

See ya soon!

Try selecting your edges, and use the Connect tool under Edit Mesh.

The Interactive Split tool under Edit Mesh will also work.
