Bringing UV's into photoshop

Hi, I'm having trouble bringing my uv layout into photoshop and was wondering if anyone could help...

I used a tutorial from digital tutors to unwrap my character and now I'm having trouble bringing the uv's into photoshop. I've googled and haven't found much. Some have said use the "stamp tool", but that brings the file in as a single image.... uv's connected to the background. I'm more use to the way it works in maya. Anyway, the file also comes in too small to paint using the stamp tool. I went into the preference of the texture editor and increase the "checkerboard size" to 1024x1024 hoping it would make the image larger, but that didn't work.

I also tried export and it just saved the background image with no uv's.

If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

yes, getting UV's over is a bit of a pain.

Best is to already use an empty image on the character, and stamp with that. At least you get the same sized image.

On the softimage mailinglist there was someone who wrote a script for this, with vector output.

If you can't find it, I try to share it somewhere.

Hi, I found this script and tried to use it, but I'm getting a few errors. I searched online for some solutions, but I don't have much experience with scripting. I was wondering if someone would mind taking a look to see if notice a solution to the problem.

When a script file extention is .py it means its a python file, change the language in the script editor to python and it should run ok.

Yes, that's the script I was thinking about. I lost it btw, so thanks for finding it.

And yes, a .py script is python, so running it as something else will not work ;-)
