Problem creating final gathering points

I am new to rendering and hoping someone can help me with this problem.
When creating the final gathering points , it seems to move along fine until about 20%, then the render slows to an almost stopped speed. The task manager shows that the CPU stays working at 100% and the memory is at about 7 out of 8 of the available GB. from there it seems like it goes nowhere.
my scene has 69265 polygons, i am using the MR sky/sun shader with final gathering.
not too sure if the video card has anything to do with rendering but im using an nvidia quadro 1000M
ive attached my FG settings and harware specs. Is this a problem with my hardware or is there a way to optimize my scene for a quicker render.

Solved , adjusted the trace depth settings of reflection and refraction from 10 to 2. and it rendered fine.
