Advice for graphics card?

Hello,

me and my father are trying to turn my old acer pc into something more suitable for 3D modelling.

At my school we use Maya, ,Photoshop, Zbrush, , Mudbox, Houdini, and every once in a while we might use Vegas, After effects and Audacity.
I'm currently using a asus K53s laptop, but I'd like to have a backup PC for when things go wrong.

Right now we plan to use the following hardware:

Motherboard: Asus P8H77-V LE,s1155
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, s1155
Ram: Corsair ValueSelect DDR3,1600-16GB KIT
Power supply: Corsair TX 650WATT

This is the PC's current graphics card:

nVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS (G86)

Neither of us have any clue on what video card would be best suited for me.
We've collected a small list of graphics cards that fit within our budget:

MSI N650Ti-1GD5V1
Club 3D GeForce GT 640
Club 3D Radeon HD 7750

Could anyone tell us if any of these would suffice?

Thanks!

hey,

what is your primary 3d software going to be? And is this also the one that you will want the best performance in?

If it's maya I would check out the maya forum here on cgtalk and check if somebody has opened a similar thread.

Other than that. I think you can always just get as much gpu and ram for what your budget is and you have to decide between amd and nvidia. And thats it pretty much...

I would choose the MSI N650Ti-1GD5V1 graphics card. The other two will not be very powerful for any GPU-related tasks, such as viewports. They're kinda low-end, but the 650Ti is a great card and plenty powerful.

I guess I will mostly be using maya, we get lessons in modelling (poly/nurbs), rendering, animation and texturing that have to be handed in as maya files/renders. The other programs are still used often though. And it won't be untill the 3th year before we can choose to drop courses.

It's good to know the other 2 cards are not that powerfull.
We chose to go with the 650Ti.
Anyway, thanks for the advice!
