A question for advanced CG artists

Out of curiosity, what PC specs do you guys have to model and render your complex work?

I currently use the following specs

AMD Phenom II x6 1090T 3.2Ghz
Corsair 12GB Memory
500GB Hard Drive
Sapphire AMD 6870 1GB
XFX 450W PSU

I have a hard time rendering complex models using Softimage 2012.

You'll get responses that range from a dual core laptop to a 64 core workstation with hundreds of gigabytes of memory. If the hardware is out there somebody is using it. The majority of rendering workstations that I've used are dual socket Xeon workstations with the current hardware. Right now that's typically the six core Xeon processors and 24-48 GB of memory. Use what works for your workflow though.
