DougFerreira & flyingP, cheers guys

parol.a & flinder, Recently I've been stuck in the dreary world of web design. Thanks to this challenge I feel excited about sitting down in front of my computer again for the first time in the best part of a year. Can I keep up this pace? Probably not, but I certainly plan to make hay whilst the sun shines.

Cheers guys.

Beautiful modeling and design work so far! Would love to see your meshes and textures laid out at some point if you take a breath from your break-neck pace and can post 'em!

That priceless! Maybe the tutu should have multiple layers though. Looking forward to seeing this entry come along.

gG,

Haha, nice. If it becomes an animation I'd defiantely consider it as a backing track

walrus,

Sure thing. I'll post the wires and texture so far tomorrow at some point. Cheers.

nwiz25, thanks dude.

dmonk,

Definately. I'm working on a more detailed tutu that is much noisier and, as you say, multilayered. Cheers man.

Cheers guys,
Dave

Line Art or Model: ...and wronger...

I've textured most of the body now. The upper torso is probably there, minus some hair. I think the lycra needs a bit of work but generally I'm pleased with it.

The legs and shoes only have basic textures right now. I'll sort hem out next.

Good God you work so fast!

He's looking excellent, I really like the attention to detail in the folds of his tights & costume.

One thing that grabs me though is the shape of his shoes... Ballet slippers tend to end with a squared off toe, which gives them quite a distinctive shape. And at the moment your's are quite rounded.

Although the reason I noticed this is largely because I've spent the last few days staring at reference for ballet shoes myself - so forgive me!

At this rate you'll be finished in a week & I can't wait to see it!

Good call. I have gone in and squared them up. Have also added some displacement to give that nice wrinkly ballet shoe look. Will post soon.

Unlikely. I've got a teacher, at least two other ballet dancers and a dance studio to get through yet.

Cheers for your post.

varma,

You might not have to wait too long. Just rendering something out now. Will post soon. Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback all, will update shortly.
