Extract Selected Faces to New Mesh?

Is there a way in Mudbox to select faces and then extract them from your base mesh to form a new separate mesh? I know this is possible in zBrush. Obviously I could just export an obj and then do it in Maya, but that seems like such a work around.

you can do it in mud 2014... but its creating faces only... no thickness...

You can also draw curves on the mesh now and create from curves too. Similar to Zbrush. Again no thickness.
