creating a symmetrical T-pose

it seems if i T-pose a human figure in Mudbox, by hand, i becomes slightly Asymmetrical.

does any one have a tip on how to do this systematically so that it's symmetrical?

--also i have use the import to max/symmetry modifier approach. but it i lose sub levels

pose one side... select some faces on that side... RMB onto the sculpt layer and mirror x..
