i'm trying to figure out how to intentionally designate where my Painted textures reside when i export from Mudbox to 3ds Max.
i thought it might be the paths menu in Preferences but to no avail.
Does any one have any ideas or methods for this.

I've also been trying to change the way Mudbox exports its textures but unfortunately no, atm there doesn't seem to be a way to change where your Mudbox project textures are exported to.
- You can try using Symbolic Links to automatically redirect where you want Mudbox to save the textures to. This is probably the best way to handle it as you won't have two copies of texture files. However be careful when working with symbolic links as it directly affects your OS so just make sure you don't make silly typos when creating them if you're going to do it via the cmd prompt.
- http://www.bvckup.com/ is currently in beta (and free while it is), I'm using this right now to actually backup my Mudbox project textures to my external HDD automatically whenever they're updated. For what it's worth, I haven't had any problems with it but I'm not using it for large projects so I can't say how it will handle more than 100+ files.
- I have not tried this, but apparently FreeFileSync has realtime folder sync now as well: http://sourceforge.net/projects/fre...latest/download
