Now open my entry. I wish I wouldn't get too busy later to accomplish my first challenge.

"The Death" in the Inspiration section reminds me one of my old paintings.

But I'm expecting to learn more about this story before I seriously start anything.

Quite a sexy outfit you've come up with for Patricia. And very nice flowing sketching style

Maybe I would think again about the camel toe effect though...

Good luck for the challenge!

Concept Art: Patricia Costume 02

Finish reading. It was a quite good book. I especially like the way it ends.

Patricia Costume, enough for now.

Concept Art: Thumnails and a Sketch

After a while of reading and thinking about the book, I realized that it's almost an impossible task to illustrate just one chamber to represent the entire story and the meaning behind it. It's such an epic piece and every scene seems not enough. So I am going to try something different, something in the book and not in the book. Doesn't make any sense? I don't know, maybe it will make more sense when I finish it.

Here are a bunch of thumbnails I did a while ago. I picked the No.1 and sketched it as an image above. I will start from here and show more stuffs along the way.

It's been very tough for me to organize some time to do this. I also got a few of other illustrations needed to be done for work, the worst thing is, they have the same deadline as EON. But it will come, I believe.

And thanks for all the nice comments! The Patricia Costume is just a rough pencil sketch. I might still use it for my final image, but it will be from a different angle I'm sure, and this is not a pose I will use. Good luck to you guys as well!

Line Art / Model: Lighting Study

So I organized some time this weekend to publish a lighting study here.

Based on my initial line concept, I decided to light the scene from two directions, from bottom - flaw light, and from outside the tube - moonlight (or called earthlight). I thought it would be interesting if Axis City could have the earth as its moon. Worlds within and beyond worlds is my goal. And as you can see, I've removed the big circle shape on the bottom part of the image, to show more depth in this direction as well. In my vision, Axis City is a big multiple layered city, sitting around the flaw. I hope you can understand this from my image.

I need more time...
