How do I achieve this (simple?) studio lighting?

Hey guys!

I'm relatively new to 3D, but I'm getting into it to visualize product concepts. As you might now, the barrier to get started with this is quite high so I'd appreciate any help. Anyways, I was wondering how to get this studio-like lighting setup. Not so much about about an exact copy, more about getting sweet product renders:

(Original works by Andrew Kim)

Also, any tips on better understanding lighting in regards to product design (or heck, even in general) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
