Question Need Guidance , Realstic Lighting

Howdy folks,
im gonna get right to the point. im a newbie to 3D and im learning the basics at the moment. so i modeled this bike based on a DT video. im using mental ray for render engine, i placed photometric free light above the object and basically hit render! is there any useful articles out there that i can use to light and render this bike to get a realistic outcome?
thanks in advance.
P.S: the photo's attached to this post.
