Ink n paint lighting (3ds max)

any tips on getting some good shading when lighting something with an ink n paint in 3ds max

i keep lighting my model but i cant see the cool cartoon style shadows really

i have to be lighting this wrong, i want me some harsh shadows so i can clearly see the cartoonyness

You should start from adding lights into your scene from pic you sent I see there no lights. No gi is needed for toon shading if you go for ink.

im new to lighting things, not even sure if theres a certain way i should be doing it with ink n paint
