Maxwell SSS Skin shader


I'm working on a skin shader using maxwell render. As I didn't find any good tutorials describing the process of creating the skin(only some candles, milk etc.) I decided to find out how maxwell can handle realistic skin surface using well known model.

Here is what I've got so far.

This one using cold IBL (messed with normal map a bit):

And this one with warm:

Here is my MXM Material preset without texture, test it and use as you like. I don't really figured out how layers of sss mix with each other and just tried some variants to get the result.

I will appreciate any help to improve!

Wicked mate thanks for sharing its looking great I would put some light behind the ears to see how the skin works. Post it if you do it please.

Could you share how to actually apply the maps?

This looks quite good.

I was wondering if you would mind sharing the entire scene?

Or give some hints on how to light this scene and apply the maps.

As you see Im quite new to the render business

it still looks quite dry for skin... it could use some more reflections imho
