Spotlight: Consistency, Color, and Settings

Hello all,

I was trying to find a consistency with the color of my spotlight. I am using maya 2012 and I see that the top intensity that the light can go is 10.0 except when it comes to rendering the maximum difference (I the viewer can see) is 2.6667. Am I doing something wrong with my settings or is this correct?

Also, does the diameter of the light itself affect the overall color: like does it make the inside portion of the light brighter than the outside.

There is no top intensity. Click the numerical box and enter the number you want.

If you're using Linear Lighting Workflow, then you shouldn't have problems with contrast anymore.
