LIGHTING for FEATURE ANIMATION WORKSHOP :: taught by pixar td

COMBINE & SAVE :: lighting bundle ::

Want to transform yourself from lighting novice to a well-trained lighting machine in a few short months?

Take advantage of the tdu Lighting Bundle by signing up for both Principles of Lighting (October 15th - November 19th, 2012) and Lighting for Feature Animation (Jan 7th-March 4th, 2013) and save!

You start by developing your fundamental skills with the 5-week, beginner Principles of Lighting course taught by Blue Sky Studios Lighting TDs Jasmine Katatikarn and Michael Tanzillo. Then move on to the more advanced Lighting for Feature Animation course with Jesse Weglein, Lighting TD Pixar Animation, where you will gain a more in-depth knowledge of the specific challenges of lighting an all CG shot.

yes, these are online courses!! so you can take them from anywhere and at your own convenience.

To kick the week off, tdu instructors will post a 1-2 hour lecture to cover the weekly topic. The lecture will cover theoretical principles, examples of the technique being implemented, and how-to demonstrations which will allow the students to practice the demonstrated technique.
At the end of each lecture, the professor will present the students with a challenge they will have the rest of the week to complete.

you can see an example of the tdu experience here:
