THE CHALLENGE:___________________________

Sculpt, in a period of 1 month and two weeks, one or more 3D representations of a building, vehicle, machine and or environment based on extensive research... For this challenge, attention to detail an imagination are essential.

The idea of this "mini-challenge" is to simulate an impossible deadline for a project. The artists will have at their discretion how detailed the models they will be working on, what program they will be using, the amount of models, and if the models will be shaded/ rigged. But the model will have to be original creation based on EXTENSIVE research.

At at the end of the challenge the final model will have to look like a scene that we might see in a cg movie or a commercial.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:______________________

Detailed RESEARCH, and attention to detail are key for ALL entries. Please before doing an entry do your homework.

The best model will be selected by an open vote
for these categories:
  • BEST ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION OF ESTABLISHED CHARACTER

What a fantastic theme!

I had hoped to do a take on Ulysses for the Steampunk challenge.

If I had any free time, I'd love to jump into this...

Very cool

One question - When you say "exact likeness" of an action figure, how exact are you looking for? Those examples you posted are pretty low quality, do we have to make it look like them, in that pose? Or are you just referring to an exact likeness of the design in terms of clothing, weaponry, etc. (in which case it would really just be your own sculpt from a character from the TV series, right?)

I doubt I'll be entering so anyone else can happily jump on this, a cartoon that encompasses everything, people, machines and an action figure range Centurions, from 1985, the best link is the wiki one and the links at the base of that are good to follow for everything related to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Centurions_(TV_series)

wow!! I'm a kid again :)

I'm thinking of entering this comp, sounds like extreme fun . One question Roberto... Does an 80's character that wasn't necessarily part of an animated cartoon series qualify for this competition?

Thanks

Fun stuff. I think I'll try tackle this with something from the Centurions, the Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers (with rocking intro) or the Inhumanoids
