HCM#39: Giant Monsters/Giant Robots - Macross MBR-07-Mk II Spartan

I'll model a mecha from Macross, the MBR-07-Mk II Spartan Destroid.
In the Macross universe, Destroids are the non-transformable robots that take a role more close to ground/armored troops against the giant Zentradi.

First WIP, not much to show, main body and one of the 'shoulders':

For the little details Im mixing references from the original artwork and pictures of a scale model.

Second WIP update, I'll start using the Scote's system (TM)
Green: New
Yellow: Changed from last update

Started work on the hip area, added side hatches on main body, added the turret. Modified the maneuver thrusters.

Thanks!

Progressing slowly, modified the walls of the main body weapon bay (made ticker), added camera, more details on the hip area (still missing the waist joint section), added weapon bay doors (still need to detail those, I want to made them open so it needs hinges, locks, etc), started work in the arm.

It may look clean, but the wire is a mess in some parts, at times I regret going with subsurfs for some parts

Looks good to me. I wouldn't worry about the wires at all unless they're causing some rendering artifacts. If the object is not going to deform, the topo doesn't cause artifacting and as long as it's not totally inefficient in the poly-count, its more or less irrelevant what the wire really looks like. But that's just my 2 cents.

Anyways, looking real good, if you as me.

Cheers!

Another update, hand and part of the leg done.
I had modelled a different hand but I wasnt happy with it and started a new one that matches more closely the references.

Hand posed (not rigged, just hierarchy posing)
