Best model: Antonio Peres. The speed, professionalism and excellent results had me laughing in tears. You are pretty much in the Chuck Norris league of CGI artists. If you are not working for ILM or one of the top CGI houses...then you damn well should be.

Best Diorama: Wyatt Harris. I honestly thought you were out for the count, but at the last minute you pulled together a lovely scene that recreated that ground breaking moment in stop motion photography where Medusa stalks Perseus in her underground lair. A sterling effort and just goes to prove it ain't over until the fat lady sings.

Special mentions: Sebastian and Chris. The Centaur is a good clean effort and the end result is great to behold. If it were a statue being sold I would buy it on the spot. Love it. OMG, the Kracken. Even with over looking the arms, that is a really tidy job.

Oh, there was another artist who - sadly the thread has disappeared from the HMC section - gave a good go at the Ymir from 20 Million miles to Earth. A good effort, my friend(sorry, I cannot remember your name!).

Best model: Wyatt Harris. Closest in appearance to Ray's model.

Best render: Antonio Peres. Lots of good looking shaders

Most Accurate: Wyatt Harris. Again, Closest in appearance to Ray's model. Other entries, while very good, were not close enough to Ray's original creature features overall.

Best Diorama: Wyatt Harris. Matched the movie set the closest.

Best Creature series: Antonio Peres. Having the dragon with the cyclops along with
a sad little human who is about to get smashed in a bad way makes for a fun little presentation. While the cyclops proportions are a bit off from Harryhausen's cyclops, I found it comical and entertaining. A great effort that delivered as much eye candy as
Wyatt Harris's efforts but in the end Wyatt's efforts more accurately mimic Ray's originals.

Many other good entries that must have run out of gas as the efforts stopped prior to
texturing and getting beauty renders posted.

This is the Rhedosaurus from The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms(1953). It was Ray's first gig on his own following Mighty Joe Young(1949) on which he was an assistant animator to his idol and mentor, Willis O'Brian of King Kong fame.

Most Accurate, Best WIP and Best Diorama:

Comments & Description
I am truly humbled to have this opportunity to honor one of my childhood heroes. I must've spent literally hundreds of hours watching his films as a kid. And out of those films, none of his characters scared me or thrilled me as much as Medusa. I still remember the first time I saw Clash of the Titans and how creeped out I was when I heard that rattle. And then the building tension of the scene up to the climax with Perseus. It took some good parenting to convince me she wasn't real.

Thanks guys for all the feedback and encouragement, I wouldn't have finished without it.

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad(1958)
It's an incredible cinematic adventure as the legendary Sinbad sets off on a dangerous journey to the mysterious Island of Colossus. His quest is to break the spell cast over his beloved princess by a diabolical magician. But before he can save her, Sinbad must battle an awesome collection of mythical monsters, the man-eating Cyclops, a saber-wielding skeleton, a ferocious two-headed bird called the Roc and a fire-breathing dragon.

For you Mr. Harryhausen.
A tribute to the master.
