Winners gallery?

Hey Robert, is there a reason the winners gallery is no longer maintained? I was just looking through it from the beginning and I noticed a lot of the early winners are broken and no longer linked, I never really look all the way through and it's a shame not being able to see some of the extraordinary work produced here in these competitions. In particular I was looking at the original Harryhausen tribute in preparation for the upcoming one and one of the winning entries is broken. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the artist no longer having their work posted and nothing you did, but maybe if the finals were saved to an external web gallery like photo bucket or something they could be preserved.

i have just been busy.
Let me do a couple of things first, and I will update the gallery.

That is a problem sadly. I have a few old challenge entries bookmarked I like to look up for techniques every now and then and if the artist takes down their hosting then its gone. :(

Yeah ZBCentral has a policy of users uploading their images to the site's servers so nothing is ever lost. I can't imagine cgtalk would be able to offer the same service because there are a gazillion trillabites of images on these boards. We could however store the winning images and wip pics on the cgt servers. Quite a bit of work to relink everything though. Hmmmmm.

Like you guys I am here hunting for a particular artist who's work I admire. HCMC has always been a great resource.
