rhinton Thankyou man!

cbeese Thanks

h2olt Thankyou and you brought up a really good point. About the exact stuff you mentioned.
I think the suit is way too 2D and needs loads more character. I am busy with the gunz and knives atm so I will get right on it. The great thing about zbrush is you can constantly sketch and evolve which makes working pretty fluid.

As far as anatomy goes I am always trying to make something attractive and something that will sell. I want the character to be interesting for others and have fun myself if possible. Finding the right forms and approach is a constant search and any observation from others is extremely welcome. These last weeks I have been scouring the net for reference and directions and again the quality of professional work I have seen has knocked me to my knees, which is a very good thing.

I would rather people just write what they see in my work without worrying about my feelings because that makes commenting a chore and we all have enough to do already without having to be diplomatic as well. So anybody seeing anything just write it down, the more info the better.

Thanks again for the comments and I am working hard to get the modelling done so I can get your thoughts.

Cheerio

It'll probably look fine once she's posed and has those guns drawn.

Nope, if the base is not good no amount of detail will help the character
I speak from painful experience.

I don't think Kanga's entry is photoreal. Its supposed to be stylized.

Thanks Airflow. Yeah you are right On the other hand Seravi's remarks are great. The elbows and knees need work and I am busy with that and modelling the weapons atm.

Seravi thanks for the image post and your observations. Top!

Agreed, but I still love you stretched style. Reminds me of Eric Canete tho he has gone more Ben Caldwell these days, which is cool, love that guy too.
Anyway OT
When this is done, I would love to do a, what was it called. The one on one Challenge thing you did on the Focused Critiques Forum. I think there should be something like this here tbh. Mebbe you and Roberto could discuss this.

Airflow, thanks man. Wow, how come I never saw any of that Canete before? Bookmarked!

Yeah a faceoff would be terrific.

Cheers

Eric Canete did some of the original Aeon Flux stuff with Mr Chung.

Don't agree with this to be honest. I think after a certain artistic level you can see what the artist intends, sometimes there is sloppyness but after a point the ability to fix anatomical mistakes comes down to not to lack of talent but more lack of time. The challenge is not really very serious. My post was less about your knowledge and more about "Its a bit of fun".
No bad will intended.
Anyway, you were correct in your pointers. I am sure Kanga's entry will be even better now..
(Damnit!!!)

The pistols are long and elegant, they come off more as a finesse weapon based on agility and quick movement rather than bulky, intimidating badassery. The shape and flow kind of reminds me of the Nintendo and (one of) the Atari light guns too. It might be personal preference speaking but I think slightly shorter with harder edges would help it feel more badass. I just find pistols that look like they carry a bit of weight just feel like they're more powerful and more badass as a result.
