That is a heck of a model. Great job so far.

Can you post a non-wireframe verison? Sometimes smoothing errors will hide in the wires.

Thanks guys, was trying to decide what kind of scene to put this in, but having a hard time figuring something out. I thought maybe a villain hideout or lair but I dont know if the red skull has anything like that. Any ideas?

Massive Update

Ok so I have a lot to update here. First off I was trying to think of a setting for the hydra coupe. Since it's the red skulls car, I though his headquarters/evil lair would be suitable. After searching around I couldn't find any definitive image of what (or if it exists) the red skulls digs would look like so I just decided to make my own batcave/hydra army headquarters.

This is soft of my ww2 underground bunker inspiration:

And here is what I came up with, there are 2 detail sets followed by what my final shot will be:

This is the final detailing on the car. I finished the engine compartment and modeled all the underbody asets including the rear end tandem axle, and the front end suspension.

Thanks fellas, trying to crank out a real nice render. Having some trouble getting my rockwall to displace properly, but other than that I'm right on schedule to finish by the 7th.

Final Entry

Pretty much all done. My render is about 95% of where I want it to be, but I just dont have time right now to fix the few things that are bothering me.

Anyway everything was modeled and rendered in maya with vray for the beauty and mray for a few extra passes.

It hard to say how much time I spent because of varying blocks of working hours, but I would guess between 80 - 100 including render time.

The setting is the supposed headquarters of the red skull's hydra army. I was going for a wwII underground bunker / research facility. The door built into the rockface is maybe some kind of nuclear reaction chamber buried deep below the earths surface. I tried not to over shadow the car too much and another color probably would of made it pop, but what bad guy dosent drive a black car?

Had a great time with this one and really enjoyed watching a lot of the entries. Good luck everyone!

Nice render.. love the shader. The car don't seam to fit in the enviro.. miss the red glow from behind
