Having issues with the glock (topology)

I am having a few topology issues with a WIP glock I am working on. It is supposed to be a very detailed model for 3d stills, not animation. The first image below is where I am having a difficult time with the topology with my glock. The second set of images are to show where I am at with flipping those invisible triangles. I don't really know the best way to go about this so I am asking... Thank you for any comments or help. The linked video is just a rotation around my gun so that you can view the hole topology if you are interesting in finding and commenting more errors on my mesh. Dial up be warned, it is a larger vid.

MESH PROBLEM- It looks like crap and I need ideas of alternate topology I could use.

Triangle Flipping FUN- I am worried that to many lines are coming together at not enough points. I don't want this to effect smoothing with the smoothing groups, but don't know how to properly set everything up.

just a quick suggestion, have a look at the attached edited file to give you a better idea on how you have to treat the mesh topology.

You are right about the topology, it is not going to work the way you currently have, try maintaining a quad/tri layout as mush as possible. Hope it helps.

Looks bueno! Reminds me of watchmen for some reason, the really slow camera move. Model looks to be shaping up!

poop

just pushing through with some very final modeling. I thought I was done, but I had some weird stuff going on with the smoothing groups so I needed to redo a few things. The area of concern is highlighted in red in this video (link at bottom of post). After putzing with this for about 2 hours, I finally found out a solution that doesn't completely suck, but still sucks enough to not be a good enough solution. Any suggestions for topology in this certain area (at this point I don't care if it looks like a glock, I want it done...). Please, any help before I go insane..
