Rebecca and Ben, thank you for the clarification.

Ben, let me once again thank you for such an incredibly generous offer. I frequesnltly need reference, but don't have the resources to do them myself.

For my first request please see the attached low-res version of the image I am working on.

I hope to send you a few more requests soon.

Hi Ben,

I have a big request for you - I really appreciate anything that you can do!

Here are my sketches - it would be great if you could mimic the lighting, I'm at least interested in the dramatic lighting that I've seen you use on your webpage - this is a great example of nice lighting from your gallery. I'd prefer the lighting of the pictures to be not nearly so dark as my sketches, I can always exaggerate the lighting, mainly I am interested in being able to see clearly defined form and distinct shadows.

Question

Okay Cris, when I get the chance, I'll see what I can do with a broom handle, then ....

Werepumpkin, I'll see what I can come up with for that - cool image, looks complex, hopefully I can get the pose right (and without a tree quite like that to brace on/against, could make it tricky...).

Rebecca, for clarification, I'm seeing a black background, probably little if any fill light, with #7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14 taken while sitting, kneeling, or laying on the floor and #3, 4, 5, 6 taken with the camera directly above me, #1 seated, and #2, 9, 15 standing. There is no #13. I'm I thinking along the right lines? Did you want me to post them here?

Hi Ben,

Don't worry about the backgrounds - it's really unimportant what's in the background. Fill light is actually helpful, I don't want the photographs to be as dramatically lit as these sketches, because I need to be able to see the form. There's no #13 due to superstition - I would prefer that you email the images to me as I'd like to be able to use them exclusively.

Please feel free to take liberties with these. Shots from 'above' can be mimicked by posing upright / standing against a background. Hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,

-Rebecca

Thank you, Ben...it's hard to find dynamic shots...appreciate it.

Werepumpkin,

I gave the pose a try - it turned out to be a bit of a challenge, perhaps even more than I thought (and many of these tend to be a challenge, at least for me - not that they're not also fun to attempt, of course).

If this one doesn't already scare everyone off, the larger version can be seen here: http://photos.imageevent.com/justme...3178CE-N195.JPG

Fencing for Cris

Obviously, me and my broom handle (lol), don't really know how to do this, but this is my attempt:
