Anatomy Thread of AJ Jefferies

Long time no see

Since my old thread is so old it's sealed shut & all of the image links seem to have died, here's a new one!

I've recently started back at life drawing & life sculpture classes in the evenings, so I'm going to keep updating my progress here for any feedback/advice people may have to help me improve.

Couple of quick ones...

And a longer study (not hugely happy with this one, wish I'd put a little more thought into it)

Will hopefully have some shots of the sculpture(s) soon.

Any and all comments/advice massively appreciated!

Nice start. Only advice for LD is to block out the negative space, if you can do it quickly most of the rest of the subject should be proportioned correctly , and use your pencil as a rule of thumb... as a rule of thumb .

Nice gestures. Funny, the one you've spent most time one (the longer study) doesn't look as good as the other two. Just my opinion. The form is kind of lost there.

Welcome back and looking forward to seeing more ;]

Thanks for the feedback Rob & Razz

Razz - I totally agree on the longer study. I have a horrible tendancy to keep scribbling/shading given too much time, which I will definitely work on.

I've just started Scott Eaton's anatomy course, so hopefully there will be some improvement soon!

Few drawings from the last couple of sessions. Apologies for the quality, I took the photos with my phone.

2min studies with stick & ink

Here's a couple of WIP shots of a torso I've been working on life sculpture sessions. This is roughly 4 hours in & we still have a couple of sessions to go.

Cheers!

Quick one from last nights life drawing. Had a very frustrating evening stopping & restarting so not very happy.

Apologies once again for the poor quality (of the photo and the drawing)

So it turned out that tonight was in fact our last session with this model/pose so here's where I got with it.
