DISNEY/FOX Deal Could Be Finalized Next Week - Report--So what happens to Blue Sky?

he Walt Disney Company's talks to acquire portions of 21st Century Fox are progressing, with unnamed sources saying could be formally announced by December 15, according toCNBC. CNBC confirms that its parent company, Comcast Corporation, continue to be in talks as well but Disney's angle have "progressed more significantly."21st Century Fox is reportedly aiming to focus on its news and sports division, and sell off outside assets including its movie and tv studios, and its stake in various networks such as Fox, FX, Sky, and Star TV. That would also include the film rights for Marvel Entertainment's Fantastic Four and X-Men, some distribution rights to the earlierStar Warsfilms, partial ownership of BOOM! Studios, and a stake in Hulu (Disney and Comcast each own stakes already)..The talks of a Fox sale begin in November when Disney reportedly reached out to Fox to open negotiations. According toVariety, those initial talks broke down over "price and other terms."https://www.newsarama.com/37627-dis...eek-report.html

BlueSKy is independent as far I know. I've always felt that they should have created their own graphic novel/monthly comics division to create, build and market test their own IP/IP development processes essentially creating their micro-marvel brain trust as well as take on VFX for cinema outside of Fox projects, maybe they'll do that. Their historic connection to Tron though with Disney owning it and Disney/Pixar's aversion to killing off feature animation studios makes it just as possible that Bluesky continues with the work they'd been doing with Fox, but under Disney/Pixar's direction. I don't see Fox/Bluesky properties being dumped on Disney Animation or Pixar and I don't see Disney just killing the IP either.

The WaltDisneyCompany said on Thursday that it had reached a deal to buy most of the assets of 21st CenturyFox, the conglomerate controlled by Rupert Murdoch, in an all-stock transaction valued at roughly $52.4 billion.https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/14/...72FB651&gwt=pay

The benefit of this merger is that it clears the way for other medium sized production companies to offer differentiated content that still artistically/creatively roam in the same area in a couple of years.
