The 10 year old me would be super stoked about this. Disney used to make stuff that both the young and the old crowd could appreciate. Not anymore it seems.

I had no idea this was about forest fire-fighting planes. My first thought was, Are they going to have planes putting out fires from plane crashes? A movie about plane crashes is not likely to find its way onto an inflight movie schedule.

FWIW, I could care less what they do tho this franchise or what it means in the "grand scheme of things." It's their movie/franchise, they can do what they want with it.

Maybe its just me, but something seems to be lacking in the render quality. Not that it is bad, its just not as "rich" as I would have expected. It kinds of reminded me of other movies like Open Season 1 and 2, where after watching the first one you think "cool" then you go to check out the second one and you are like "What happened?"

The render quality matches "Tayo the Little School Bus".

That's not a knock against it... but I have a feeling that this is sort of a DisneyToons style production.

Tayo is cute in its own way.

Not bad. I don't know if its for TV, DVD, or Cinema. But really, I think the idea is good. I'm sure it get enough message about danger of fire, forest fire, and instill the feeling of want to be a mobile firefighter when they grow up (just like g.i joe make kids want to be soldier, etc).

Just like Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder, etc. Some products are really for kids, so adults doesn't have to be too judgemental. They need to pay artist salary, so they need to have a product to sell. Basic business.

I'm reasonably certain it literally is a Disney Toons production. The first one was.

Indeed.
I saw the first Planes film. Quality of everything is 'fine' in that film too. But not up to what Pixar is capable of today. And everything looks 'off-the-shelf' details wise. There are no "WTF how did they do that?!" R&D for us to geek-out on.

I'm think after this one, it'll be along the lines of Planes:Air-Sea Rescue, then they can include the boats and roll out Boats.

There's something I don't quite get, that's who are they going to rescue, planes or cars in the middle of the forrest?

Where was this assembled? At one of those shops in India where they pay staff to work seven days a week for $138.00 a month?

It is indeed from Disneytoon Studios.

As far as I have heard, Disneytoon does outsource some of the work overseas.
