Whatever the interviewer feels like asking usually related to your work or their work.

There's no reason they should ask questions like that

Think of it like a first date. Be ready for 'anything'.

If it's an established studio, chances are, the studio will already have techncal V-ray artists laying down all the technical aspects and create presets for the team to use. In this case it's pointless to ask technical details, the studio probably wants to know more if you understand render passes and how to composite them.

Unless they have no V-ray tech to begin with and you're hired to set that up... in that case I don't think the interviewer would know enough to directly ask you technical question. More chance they'll ask something like ...

"Our project has lots of shots with plants growing on top of abandoned buildings. Do you think you'll be able to optimize V-Ray to render them in xx minutes? How?"

A few words from you is usually enough for the interviewer to judge your technical skill level.
