With Capital hill pointing fingers more and more to video games in the wake of tragedies and terrorist attacks, I would not be surprised if the Kinnect will be be used against gamers.

Yeah, he was the one who was dismissive in the face of the public's concerns.

Don't even get me started on Zynga...

That IS a surprise.
The ones over here must all be hiding, as all the gamers I know are under early 20's.

I've found that gaming is a pretty expensive hobby...teens don't really have a disposable income. Your 25 - 40 year old market is the big one.

Depends on the platform. Social gaming and app based tend to have very young players and also older players. Consoles and PC tend to be more hardcore I think. But there are players of all ages on all. Sweeping statement aside, there is a difference in numbers to people who play games, to those who buy and spend money on games.

You can say that again. I'm working two part time jobs and save all year round just to pay my car insurance renewal. Even then I only scraped half together and had to ask my Dad to pay the rest of it. It's really at times like this we really get to appreciate all our parents do for us, even though most of us probably argue with them all the time. Personally I would be lost without the help my Dad gives me. I hope he lives to be 100.

I'd be surprised if the NSA hasn't already built in a back door in to the Kinect and having one of those makes it accessible to hackers, what with the x-box being more or less on at all times and connected to the net.

Yep. You kids only appreciate us when you are shaking us down for money. It's similar to people who find God only when they get into trouble.

That's how conspiracy theories get rolling.

Folk are a lot more sensitive to how their data is gathered and used now. The governments and corperations have played it so sly up to now that trust is gone. Joe Public cannot be blamed for that.

If Microsoft feel that their data harvesting is not that bad and we shouldn't worry, then it is very poor PR for us to find out they even do this via internet security and privacy website's ( the first Kinect was spying on you too ). Google alternatives have sprung up for this very reason - folk don't like it no matter how it spun.

As mentioned earlier, if you don't like it don't buy it. I wont be for many reasons but I will be still playing my 360 until it dies.

Peoples lives are interesting to microsoft. Targetted advertising everyone loves that.

The more they know about you the more they know how to manipulate you.

The US is a fascist state. You dont know what they may find offensive, what evidence they could find and use against you, one miss step or one wrong joke. There is no conspiracy its is happening.
