YES! I really hope they deliver on all the promises they've made in terms of gameplay and scope.

Now that is lovely. Sweet design and uber high polycount aside, the way they showcase it is just excellent.

I wonder if they'll have any just fly around modes without combat, just to appreciate the graphics. Like tourist mode in some games.

The game is almost completely about just flying around and exploring, combat is just one part of it.

I remember they said they wouldn't have the ability to fly down to the surface seamlessly but now that they're so well past their funding goal I wonder whether we'll see that happen too? Even if there's no bases, just some trial worlds where you can fly around a totally procedural planet (what does a license for the already well under development planet sims cost?) Considering the graphical standard on this, the Rift support... Full universe exploration - a star surface for example (special shield for that one), a gas giant with particles for the storms instead of textures... Giant asteriods with realtime displaced terrain (Empire Strikes Back nods). This game is already pushing the envelope, the opportunity to blow the collective minds of space fans now this project is such a success is incredible.
