From what little I could find in searching, it sounds like he was overthrown, betrayed and left for dead on some random planet somewhere. It is said that Carl Urban would be back as the same character from part two. Maybe there will be come degree of connection between the two.

We need more goth scifi! I always wondered why we didn't get more of the good stuff from Alex Proyas.. Dark City was so cheesy cool.

Wow! That was a good movie. i mean its a bit long at 2 minutes but they had a lot of story to tell. Do you know if there is a sequel in the works? Perhaps Riddick Trailer #2.

I just saw this last weekend and really liked it. The creature work really blew my mind, as it did in the two before it. Simply stunning.

What's with all those fade to black? So many times, all the time.

I caught it last week in IMAX, I'm sorry to say I wasn't too excited by it despite really wanting to be.

I loved the previous movies, but this felt like a half budget, half hearted rehash of the first. Some may appreciate the irony of Katee Sackhoff's presence: "All of this has happened before, and of all this will happen again.".

Sadly it felt like it was only made because the IP was easy to get hold of.

Sadly I have to say that I was thinking exactly the same.

The budget was indeed almost a third of the budget they spend on Chronicles of Riddick.

But that shouldn't pardon the movie as sequel of a fine series felt bloodless and unimaginative, not creative in all, although I really
had no higher expectations except Riddick just should have to be "Riddick" again in some way, no matter of any basic plots..

Just my 2 cents as a Riddick fan.
