Question Dailies Shot Template

anyone know where I can get a After Effects template that I could just drop some shot into and it would display the shot# and change that # when the shot changed?

I don't think there would be a template for that, I am a little confused to what you are looking for though. To make a shot text change would just mean changing the key frame on "source text" in the text layer, relying on a template to do this seems a bit redundant.

You can do that, but it would require Nuke / QT and a script to post process your movie with stamped data from the frames which would contain, shot , sequence etc etc. go and see pipeline tomorrow when your in work.
