Seasonal Job as 2D Artist

Hi everyone!
I collaborate with a videogames studio and teach Graphic Design and Illustration in a private academy. From May to October I will have a spare time and in the meanwhile I would like to move abroad (Europe) to improve both my language and my professional skills.
I would like to spend some weeks (months) working for an animation studio, but I don't know
what's the best way to approach with the recruiters.
I've already tried to contact a couple of studios, but anyone answered to me.
Could you help me?
Thank you very much!

Studios don't generally recruit unless they have specific roles to fill, according to the budgeting of current projects. So unless the studios you contacted were actually specifically looking for someone of your skillset at the time that you contacted them, I wouldn't really expect a response, to be honest.

What kind of animation studio are you looking for?

I know that I have to improve my portfolio, but until now I've worked above all as desktop publisher because, where I live, it's very hard to find a job in the animation field.
Four years ago I worked as digital painter, clean up artist and inbetweener for an italian studio, but don't practising I've lost my skills.
For this reason I'd like to have the opportunity to work again for a studio which produces 2D projects (Flash animations, digital coloring, ecc). I'm looking abroad just because I'd like also to improve my english.
I would be available even to work as stagiest with a little salary which allows me to live abroad.

However...I want to thank each of you for advices and support.
