what music do you listen to when working on CG stuff?

Just curious what music y'all listen to when working on CG projects?

mine depends on what kinda mood I'm in, but mostly jazz or classical, at the other end of the spectrum I will listen to alt rock if I'm stuck on something because it will get the mind flowing in a different direction.

As much as I like the hundreds of different variations of music out there and listen to, when it comes to music while at work I really enjoy movie soundtracks, chill out music and video game music. Its weird considering my main taste of music is electronic and indie/rock and such, but while working I find this type of music keeps me upbeat and motivated.

I have a HUGE collection of movie soundtracks.
I am a huge movie buff, so the music helps me be inspired while working.

Also I like classic rock from the 70's and 80's.
You know, Queen, Rush, Bowie, Van Halen, Genesis etc...

And a bit of Paul Simon never hurts.

Warcraft 2 and star craft music as well as xcom and master of orion 2 music.

For some reason I'm the most productive person on the team.

Venetian Snares. It's like a crack pipe and a chainsaw topped with a piña colada umbrella.

There's never a beat in this form of electronica, it's like a slow ambient mind f***.
After a while it becomes like background noise and I never find it distracting.

Most of the time i don't listen to anything. I feel i can really concentrate in silence. Light background is fine.

But every now and then i might listen to something while sculpting or doing something tedious, in that case, Mozart, Beethoven, Elgar all my fav classical composers, Beetles, Stones, Hendrix, Doors, James Brown, Phillip Glass, Massive attack, Archive, Elliot Smith, dusty Springfield, Nina Simone, Bowie, Nirvana, Johann Johannsson, Sigur Ros, Mono and there is a ton of music i can hardly pronounce let alone spell for you here (mainly Japanese Post-Rock is what ive heard it called).

focusatwill.com

it's free and open to the public now. Read about it here: https://www.focusatwill.com/about/

I like the music that promotes an alpha brain wave state to keep me focused and relaxed. I started a couple stations on Pandora for this using artists like:

Brian Eno
Harold Bud
Jah Wobble
Rob Dougan
Zero 7

and of course those epic movie soundtracks like LOTR and Braveheart, and composers like:

Howard Shore
Danny Elfman
Carmina Burana
Thomas Newman

Two Steps from Hell is cool to work to, too.

I've got a music streaming subscription, and I play music through a web browser wherever I am. Usually film soundtracks, stand up comedy, punk rock, metal, classical piano, and a bit of jazz.
