Hello all, I'm a newbie in need of help

Hi all,

I hope I've put this on the right forum, but I've just signed up and wanted to say hi to everyone.

I'm really new to PC art and finding it an overwhelming world and I'm unsure as to where to start.

I'm working on my own project and I'm really in need of some guidance and help. So if you could point me in the right direction then I'd be very grateful.

I'm in the UK, Leicester area and would like to get in touch with people in my area as well, possibly find out about meets and shows in my area etc.

Anyway, any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Dreamspeed welcome to CGTalk!

Great to have you here. This forum is full of information and inspiration to help you along your way. If you need technical help there are the application specific forums. There are forums for aid with technique, challenges and competitions and most importantly the wip forum where you should start posting your work for feedback.

Like someone once said: the game room is at the end of the hall next to the drink machine.
Have fun

The terminal velocity of individual particles is directly related to pink rabbits on a bank holiday.

I'm pretty new to this site too, but you will definitely find the help and guidance you need here. Sometimes, I find I am on here for hours just reading everyone's thoughts on everything! The great thing about digital art is it doesn't matter where you are, you can get plenty of resources and also speak to like minded people across the world. I like to visit sites like this and digital tutors, cgchannel, cghub, deviant art and 3dtotal (just to name a few!) also, 3dtotal are UK based so all their books are pretty affordable for you hope that helps & welcome!
