Help Shading a project

Hello everyone!

I was working on a project and am having the hardest time shading this bike so that it does not look like a cartoon. I know it is going to need hard highlights/shadows but I can't for the life of me figure out how to put them. Does anyone have any suggestions? The general form is correct to the shading if it was matte...but it should be glossy. I am still a student and still learning, I know this probably looks pretty bad to many of you guys!

Thanks for the help

Check out the work of Scott Robertson

Check out his DVD section. Probably a good investment for you.
