How much should I charge?

Hi All, I'm new here. Been a fan of the site for a while now. Anyway, I'm a Maya, ZBrush, Adobe Package skilled artist who started my own company. I am wondering how much I should charge for my services. Like what if I did a 3D CGI commercial for a local company. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

At the risk of being rude, starting a business without knowing how much you're going to charge for your services is a terrible idea.

Though I think there is a time and place for the "What do I charge discussion" (not here obviously, per the rules) the answer is dependent mostly on region, competition, cost of living, cost of operation, quality of service and so on. Too many factors for use to venture a guess. It's sort of like asking "How much is a house" but more complex.

that reminds me:
I was often being asked from individuals: "I want to buy a computer. How much for it?".

This reminds me of the time I had a summer job in a lawnmower repair shop. I asked the owner how he worked out how much to charge customers, as he always seemed to pick a figure off the top of his head. When I asked him how he worked it out, he replied:

"I price each job as if it will be the last job I will ever do."
It seemed to work fine for him, probably because he was the only repair shop in town within a 6 mile radius.

Anywhere between free carry-out scrap and a few million dollars, if you need a big computer.

3. No threads asking "How much money do I charge?" or "How much money do you make?".
