Why? Ugh, that Jim Carrey mess was enough.

People will watch it the year it's released, and then we'll go back to watching the classic on tv every year.

Don't see a reason to remake this, but meh, it'll probably make money.

It's a shame Dr. Seuss didn't write, oh I don't know, DOZENS OF OTHER BOOKS they could turn into movies.

I think the financial failure of Guardians was the nail in the Original Christmas Tale coffin. But I have to say that that film had about the worst advertising and marketing imagery I've ever seen for a fantasy movie. It was simply unintelligible what the film was about (though everyone who saw it seemed to love it).

Definite marketing fail. Even the title, what the hell? People thought it was another superhero movie or a sequel to that owl movie.

Even though "Guardians of Childhood" is also a kinda boring title, the goal is not to make the title MORE boring or off-message.

For the longest time, this is exactly what I thought. I saw "Owls..." and found it just okay (but beautiful to look at). Wasn't too keen on seeing what I thought was a sequel. But the adverts showed that weird bunny creature and all I could think of was Donnie Darko.

I wonder when we'll see "You're Only Old Once!" Aw c'mon, the kids would love an animated movie about getting old.

Just out of curiosity I looked up a list of his books, it's over 60 long. This title in particular made me do a double-take, "The Pocketbook of Boners". Apparently it has nothing to do with genitals.

We should definitely do a Kickstarter campaign to buy the rights to this. It'll be HUGE! Well, maybe "huge" isn't the right word. Solid! Uh, wait, maybe not that one either....

Seriously, they need to make this just for the reviewers' inevitable headlines.
