Harlan Edison invented the lightbulb and went on to make motorcycles, right?

“free” as in “free speech,” not as in “free beer”.

Well, I can see why you would never work for someone ELSE for free, but there might be value in creating your own products and offering them free. Isn't that how many good shows or studios got started? The worked for free, put out a short on the net (or elsewhere) and it led to a profitable career.

BTW - I can't see the video, but isn't it Harlan Ellison or is there really some Harlan Edison out there?

Oh the irony of putting the clip on youtube. Do we think they asked his permission? Do we think they paid him to use it?

... did you ask him if you could repost it here and pay him for the privilege?

The clip is from a movie about his life, "Harlan Ellison: Dreams with Sharp Teeth", we watched the whole film through netflix, highly recommended, and you're paying him if you watch it that way

My Dad showed me that Harlan Ellison clip a few years ago, and I thought it was very funny. It was and still is a popular view with photographers everywhere, and obviously has even wider appeal.
