The First 3D-Printed House is Coming

A Dutch architect has designed a house shaped like a 3 dimensional Möbius Strip. A large-scale 3D printer will be used to print segments of it from artificial sandstone, and then the segments will be assembled into the completed building at the construction site:

Here is the (huge) 3D Printer that's going to be used to print the building segments:

I find this case study really interesting. While most of us are wowed by being able to 3D print little figurines a few inches tall, these guys are going to 3D print an entire building!

There was talk last year of doing this for relatively "normal" houses, as well, just to make things faster/cheaper and more versatile.

I think the more useful these things become, the more of them there will be, and the more refined it will get at a faster pace.

There have been several announcements and experiments on printing houses, this isn't even close to what has already been achieved.
The more advanced technologies currently in development allow on site printing of rows of houses.

Cheers
