Pixar is going (almost) photoreal? Nice :-)

They are going photorealistic, i noticed a lot of that in Brave and here too.

Personally, I much prefer the 'art' directed style, that existed in Monsters Inc etc

If you scroll down on that page, one guy says that this 30 second preview was better than all 5 twilight movies... that made me laugh out loud!

It's like Cars, but with umbrellas.

While this is sort of cute, is a few nice rain/dripping water shaders all it takes to impress people here nowadays?

Technically very nice, but I do think they are running out of things to anthropomorphize.

I can also largely guess how the plot will be, but they usually pull something unexpected out, will see if I'm right or not, if I see Monsters U at all, that is.

Is it just me, or is there a lot of LOVE in the air right now at the Disney Pixar animated shorts departments?

I mean... Paperman is about love-at-first... and now this thing with two Umbrellas playing at love.

BOTH feature shy guys who can't just simply walk up and go after the girl....

Lotsa lovesick people I think at Disney/Pixar. hehehe.

Not that it's a bad thing - it does make for cute short films.

It is a nice idea. It will be interesting to see where it goes.

Falling Short

I don't care too much for it. I feel like I'm watching a demo reel.

The level of cynicism for a 10 second clip is pretty staggering. Personally, I think it looks interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing the final film.

By that rationale...

It's like Cars, but with lamps.
It's like Cars, but with a unicycle.
It's like Cars, but with toys.
It's like Cars, but with snowglobes.
It's like Cars, but with clouds.
