What's better for me to learn?

Hi everybody,

I started half a year ago with zbrush and what should I say, I love it my goal is to learn how to create photorealistic scenes such as characters, monsters, landscapes but also car models, interior design. From time to time maybe also animation stuff but not that much. Now the question about what is better for me to learn and what will fit my needs? Max or Maya? I read a lot about both programs and both seem to be great but what do you recommend for my needs? I don't really get the point of it.

Thank you for any help
