Announcement Trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness

Fresh out of the oven:

http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/...ekintodarkness/

My verdict? It doesn't exactly look like a great film so far.

Maybe the next trailer(s) will be better...

To me it doesn't look like Star Trek but some random sf movie, yet Cumberbatch voice is so awesome

Yeah, that's the vibe I got from it too.

I wouldn't have been surprised if the trailer had ended with text saying "Total Recall 2" or "Judge Dredd" instead of "Star Trek".

Maybe they are saving the really "Trekky" material for a later trailer?

Either way, I'm not impressed with what I see so far...

To be honest I thought it was a good trailer. I liked the first film and have no real love for star trek outside that film so probably the lack of anything "trekky" wasn't really an issue for me.

I did however notice a distinct lack of lens flares, hopefully that fad has now been and gone and we can return to actually being able to see the film without squinting

Did they just crash Enterprise into the sea? Actually, I like the trailer as well, enough action to intrigue me, and not enough story to spoil the fun in theater. OK with me.

Note: The Japanese trailer has a bit of extra footage at the end.

That one is a better trailer imo.

Dunno. Maybe the film will be good?

Couldn't believe how much better the picture and colors looked from 1st one.

I think it looks cool..but it's funny, the poster was Batman, the trailer music is all Inception. I guess if you're going to borrow, borrow from the best.

I noticed 90% of the lens flares were in the text sections, like they were making fun of that. The actual movie parts looked like way less flares. Some very nice shots in there. Enterprise in the ocean!

I like that someone pointed out all the non-starfleet people look like extras from Back To The Future II.

P.S. No colon - it's officially (weirdly) "Star Trek Into Darkness"

Nothing to give me a bad feeling about the movie. It looks cool and I hope it's darker than the first one as the trailer's tone seem to imply.

That said... ILM is making crazy shots again and again!

Looks good to me!

Cue:
1. Complaints of "Not 'Trekky' enough."
2. Complaints of "Too 'Trekky'.
3. Lens flares!

Funny, this looks like the sort of rip-roaring space adventure that the Prequels should have been. Maybe JJ wouldn't be such a bad ep7 director after all, as long as Lindelhof is kept far away from the script.

i think he would be perfect after his films. but i agree on lindelhof, he can write as long as a second writer can bring lindelhof ideas to an end.
