They are. Don't get me wrong. It's just that it's not as photoreal as I imagined.

Remember Avatar trailers and how bad some of the shots were? specially the one with the flying dragon bites the marine in the helicopter? Those usually get fixed..well i hope so
But again i remember the first transformers trailer and how some nasty thing was going on in the CG and they remained even in the Blue-ray.

I think the look fits what they are doing. I also think it is too early to bash the CGI. I, at least, hope the edges on the monsters don't remain the same as they appear now.

What in the world is GladOS?

This poster looks very "stylized" rather than photoreal and that's exactly how i feel the trailer looks, too CG coming from ILM i think, unless it is on purpose of course.

I will see it anyway, looks like fun movie.

Graphics look very stylized.

Still do not understand why robots need two pilots.

That's more of a case of bad photoshop rather than a special style.

Well, yes. I was not either saying the pic was a bad photoshop or trashing the CGI from the trailer. To me it looks like the film is using a "especial style". As i said, i'm there for watching it, ILM has never let down with their VFX work and i'm a big fan of Del Toro.

Guess the other pilot got lonely , I wonder if they have to be synchronised too.

Plus I don't think I can watch Sons of Anarchy in the same way again.

while i doesn't know the movie (pacific rim) history itself:

a) in real life, most attack heli/jet was 2 seater. except for hokum and f-22? there are many reason for this.

b) in a lot of japanese mega mecha movie, there are actually five pilots (power rangers, flashman, voltron, and many others). so if del toro want to reduce it to two, its understand able.

just my 2 cent.

I for one was shocked at the trailer. Where is the Del Toro we know and love - no story no inventive design. Now we hear its made for 12 year olds and I feel a lot of relief. Funny how he's felt it worth while to provide a commentary..
