Hooray! Another trailer that shows huge swathes of the story, including main characters betraying the heroes!

*shakes fist at Hollywood*

I expected the giants to be.......well GIANTS. They are smaller than I expected. Still, I will go see the film.

The least believable fantasy element I saw there was the copious amounts of hair-gel.

Awww I love Ewan McGregor. This looks like fun, it reminds me a little of other not-very-serious fantasy films like Willow and The Princess Bride.

Does look like fun, but have to agree on the trailer oversharing. Not that the setup and outcome would ever be in major doubt, but I feel like I saw too many moments.

I was expecting the giant to call out "You'll pay for that Jack Sparrow"

To be honest I'm pretty over having all these CG menaces on screen, creates zero tension when people just fight air, Ian Mckellen is recently reported to have broken down and cried on set because he was trying to have a conversation with a bunch of cardboard faces with a light on top to tell him which one was talking so they could composite the dwarfs back in later.

My thoughts exactly.

Looks like D2 did some good work on the VFX.

Shame it's just another Hollywood production with the same old faces trying (and failing) to make you believe they are the character. (McGregor stands out like a sore thumb).
Imagine Pixar or DW operating like this; "Coming Summer 2012, Walt Disney Studios, Pixar: 'Brave' featuring Woody & Buzz Lightyear."

Well there are a lot more movies out there, I guess you are just focusing on the heavily vfx based ones. Ergo Cgtalk.

Why oh why do the giants have to be CG?! They look like people! They could have gotten great actors to play the giants in makeup and composited them in. I agree about not only being over having so many CG menaces on screen, but definitely being over unnecessary CG menaces. I can understand a cool, designed creature, but a giant?!

From the early pictures I really thought they were doing something like Jack falling into this from modern times. He looks out of place.

In Beasts of the Southern Wild, the monsters were pigs in makeup and it worked! Not everything needs to be CG. Imagine if in Robot & Frank they decided to do the robot as all CG for no apparent reason!
