I remember when Battleship came out, someone made this parody poster.

And now someone is actually making a film. Phoreals.

I don't want to live on this planet any more.

I have fond memories of this game....um...my childhood? I'm just hoping this disappears into the hollywood murk never to be seen again. They should make a Risk movie, world domination!

I actually do think a Candyland movie might be interesting...if directed by Tim Burton.

Heh. The last time I remember my friends playing Risk was about ten years ago, and we had all taken acid or shrooms. Suffice to say, the game started out normally and then descended into chaos as the chemicals kicked in. The game eventually came to an abrupt end when my friend picked up the board, scattering all the pieces while shrieking for a Superman lolly. Although I daresay he was actually enraged that another person had managed to annex Kamkatcha.

Now that would make an entertaining film.

This is...this is astounding. Monopoly still amazes me more though.

Plus is anyone else annoyed that Battleship's "disappointing" profit was 100 million dollars? Seriously, was 100 million really not worth the trouble they went through? I get that many movies make more, but geez...

Robot Chicken did a pretty good job of parodying this.

And Candy Land is already on the list. And Adam Sandler is writing and starring. Lord have mercy.

That's one of my favourite Robot Chicken sketches ever. I remember the first time I saw it, I laughed so much over the random shot of them swallowing pool balls off the table that I literally almost vomited. It still totally cracks me up.

Looks like someone has been reading http://www.the-editing-room.com/battleship.html

(abridged script from Battleship)

INT. THE PLANET HAZH’BROH, SOMEWHERE IN THE MIHLL-T’ONBRAH D’LEE SYSTEM

CUE: OMINOUS MUSIC

ADMIRAL TUEPLAYARZ

So, our diplomatic force has been ruthlessly slaughtered by the bloodthirsty humans. I have no choice but to send the main armada, whose commanders know no mercy, only the thrill of devouring new lands! Their thirst for dominance and appetite for power is all they obey, which is why they are known and feared throughout the Galaxy as… the HUNGRY, HUNGRY HIPPOS!

(pause)

And Thanos. We might send Thanos.

END

i no longer think that creativity is dying...
i think it is being murdered with a long slow and very deliberate choke hold by something that smiles like an idiot and laughs like a lunatic and loves lots of company.

I think that will be achieved when we have
movie titles like
Coca Cola the movie 4: Attack of the Soda Jerks

or
there is an ensemble action film starring
Ronald McDonald (Bruce Willis), Burger King(Liam Neeson),
Jack in the Box (Matt Damon), Wendy (Angelina Jolie) and Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Sanders.
