Analysis | Is young Kurt Russell in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ the best de-agin

There have been many incredible feats this year in VFX, but Lola's de-aging of Kurt certainly stands out among them. The film uses two actors, deft makeup and a year's worth of post-production effects.

Indeed I thought it was well done.

To the point that I wondered if it was just a whole lot of makeup, great effect! Maybe at the coast of the later scenes when he is loosing the battle and dissolving, but on the other hand, that wasnt establishing moments

The Kurt one is very impressive. Also the Anthony Hopkins effort in Westworld was impressive. I hadn't been expecting it and jumped up and rewound to have another look. I would have liked to see more of the younger Hopkins, not just a couple of seconds teaser.
