Outerra Anteworld - The Planetary Procedural Game Engine Simulating Earth

This is a really interesting project. Its a bit like Google Earth - it downloads real Earth elevation, ground, ocean data at about 90 meter resolution from the internet - and using procedural fractal algorithms renders the Earth up to a micro-scale of 1 centimeter. You can basically fly from high earth orbit down to the small trees grass on the ground somewhere.

Its got hardbody dynamics, flying and driving physics built in. Networked multiplayer also seems possible.

It also seems possible to import 3D models and various datasets (e.g. roads, cities into it). The tech demo I tried didn't have any roads or cities - just oceans and terrain.

It would be really cool to have this built into a 3D soft like Maya or C4D.
