Arrow

The large giant on the right has a good gesture to him, as does the one facing the viewer right in the middle.

go with either of those, I reckon.

Cheers

My first effort with Zbrush 3 ....
Using a primitive sphere
Created from my own imagination - no reference used
Going for an upward perspecive to creat the illusion of looking up at a Giant
I like the up angle on the last one posted so far.
Mainly using this as an exercise to learn this new program
All help will for sure be appreciated and very much welcomed..

Glenn

I started thinking, if this giant is a chocoholic, wouldn't he be pudgy? Or maybe he's a pms'ing female giant instead! :P Then again, pretty, lanky giants are more fun to draw... anyone have any suggestions?

What's that lump coming out of his head? The giants on the far left.

A couple of GOYA giants that someone may find useful, and be able to draw inspiration from...They are what I am drawing my inspiration from while working on this concept...

Hey there Murfdog,

You can use an image hoster like www.imageshack.us >>> 100% free to use and all you do is follow the instructions on screen and then post the link up using the image icon button. Loads easier than hosting here if you don't have a membership.

@ SpiritDreamer >>> Hey Glenn, Glad you finally for ZB3 and good start! The ref is really cool too - I actually used that first image by goya for the front page post.

Cheers all - i'm getting on with my giant and I hope to post something tonight. Yesterday was a bit of a disaster time wise, but today is better...

Cheers

No problem...

Here's a very early stage of my giant >>> no hands or feet yet, and crazy shoulders, but you know we all gotta start a project somewhere...

little details added...^ ^..

default-rol,Igor Sandman --- what is Don's monster design?? is't a workshop like this???just
designing monster but not 3d ???

Old 05 May 2007   #41
Just a Quick question, Default_Rol said there's a way in Maya to check if your mesh has triangles in it. I was wondering if you could do this in 3dsmax... If I misunderstood his meaning then I know how... but...

Hi there,

Default, you pseudosaur went just great at cafe 004, I saw it just now.
Very good to see it.

Avalanche of jobs here *lol*, still following the cafes tough...
It's pleasant to see everyone here doing such great efforts and realizing it.

Keep it up.

Best wishes,

Hey questionmarks,

Don Seegmiller is a VERY respected teacher in digital art, (and one of the first to write books on the topic,) - He's also a very good source of information on oil painting and traditional art in general which he still teaches (I picked his brains extensively on oil painting while I did his workshop last time round.) Check out his website here >>> http://www.seegmillerart.com/

You have to pay for his level of tuition via CGWorkshops, around US$400 for an 8 week course. You do the course from the comfort of your own computer and submit work virtually to him - he provides lecture notes and video demos of his techniques for you to practice aswell. Cheaper than flights and hotels, I suppose.... Our esteemed "Anatomy Forum Queen" RebeccaK has also run CGworkshops in the past which I have done too. Her level of teaching was excellent and inspired me to learn about human anatomy - something which is starting to pay off now as I build this giant... LOL.

Hope that helps some.

@ Infuscos >>> I'm sure that there will be, like I said though Maya and max have very different ways of going on sometimes so I can't personally help you on this one I'm afraid.

@ Djampa >>> Thanks, and great to see you around and checking in.

Cheers all
MIKE

Please excuse my rather crude attempt. When I read the description of The Nephilim as some sort of Angel, or even a type of Angel (larger than normal men?), and it reminded me of a film I once watched with Ben Affleck (mind the spelling, i have never wrote/typed his last name before, EVER) co starting in, it was kind of a dark comedy. Anyway, I thought of a Fallen Angel begging to be let back into Heaven or some other high place he can no long fly to with his mystical wings.

Of course this is just the scketchy stage, I would not even show it if it was not for me wanting to 'show' my face and to let people know what I had in mind. I have not drawn in a month so i am kind of a rustpot.

I thought I'd try something more traditional, Bouguereau like with a Nephilim. I like the idea of wings. I plan on making him quite evil and mean though this may be a little too pedestrian? Maybe I'll demonize him a lot more.
